- ! Discover is accepted at fewer merchants than Visa/Mastercard, especially outside the US — keep a backup card for travel.
- ! The 5% categories must be activated every quarter and are capped (typically $1,500 in spend per quarter).
- ! The 'match' value depends entirely on your spending — light spenders get a small match, not a flat $200.
- ! Discover-branded cards, including this one, are migrating to Capital One's website/app starting July 27, 2026 as part of the Capital One–Discover merger — expect account-access changes, though new-cardholder terms are unaffected for now.
